For this project, you will write a report, create a puppet, and you will share your report orally with the class. Use the requirements that follow to complete your report and puppet.

Requirements: You can check off each requirement after you’ve completed it.

Part One: Book Report

Book Report Cover: Create an interesting book cover for your Biography
Book Report.

1. Include your name, the author, and the title of the book in an
imaginative way.
2. Include a creative illustration that shows something important about your subject.
3. Use colored pencils, crayons, or markers for the cover.

Book Report Contents: Your typed report should follow the format below:

First paragraph should include: The title, author, and a brief
description of why the subject of the book is important.
Middle paragraphs (at least three) should include:

1. More details about why this person is famous.
2. Characteristics that helped make this person
important.
3. Three things that made this person important.
4. Facts about how this person contributed to his or her
field or specialty.
5. The part of this person’s life you admire the most, and why.

Concluding paragraph should include: A wrap-up of the body of the report. Include whether or not you think this book gives an honest account of your subject. Explain.

Part Two: Puppet and Oral Report

Puppet or poster: create a puppet or poster to represent your character.

1. Your puppet or poster should be homemade using an assortment of craft materials. Be creative. Do not use any store-bought toys for your puppet.
2. Have the puppet hold something that represents your subject. If you choose a poster, be sure to include illustrations or representations of objects that represent your subject.

Oral Report: Prepare a three to five minute oral report on your subject

1. Speak in the first person as if you were the character.
2. Explain your puppet or poster and the significance of other objects included.
3. Be prepared to answer questions from the audience.
4. Have fun!
