Homework/Tarea

Espanol siete (7)

In Spanish class this year, your child will be introduced to Spanish concepts and grammatical structures. This will continue in Spanish 8. In Spanish there is an emphasis on speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as on culture awareness of Latin America countries and Spain.

Some of the themes we will be using this year are:

Unit 1-Introduction to Spanish
Unit 2-At home and at school
Unit 3-Time
Unit 4-Leisure activities

Also during this year we will be doing some or all of the following projects: ID cards, dream house plans with written descriptions, the city (places in town, location).

Espanol ocho (8)

Your child is now in Spanish 8. What does this mean? Spanish 8 is a continuation of last years Spanish 7. These 2 years are equivalent to one year at the high school. Hopefully, after a successful year in Spanish 8, your child can enroll in level 2 Programs at the highschool. This year in Spanish 8 there will be an increased emphasis on speaking in Spanish, improving pronunciation and culture awareness of countries in South America and Spain.

Some of the themes are:

Unit 5-Weather
Unit 6-Family
Unit 7-Events and planning
Unit 8-Food and clothing

Also during the year we will be doing some of the Following projects: weather, family, Calendar, “table talk” dialogues, restaurant dialogues, chore charts, postcards.

Students should SEEK HELP as soon as they feel uncomfortable with the material or their performance in class.
