Potential Energy is one of several robotics teams in the town of Litchfield NH. We are the only Litchfield team participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). FRC is an international robotics competition aimed at inspiring the next generation of innovators, technology leaders, and changemakers. “With limited time and resources, teams of high school students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. They raise funds, design a team “brand”, hone teamwork and presentation skills as well as perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80million+ in college scholarships.”
Our team welcomes students who are in grades 9-12 and are either enrolled at CHS or are students who live in the district but are home schooled, attend private school, or attend other area High Schools but live here in town.
We have been a team since 2010 and have continued to grow and adjust to the changing landscape of education. This year our goals are to expand our learning opportunities and to compete in several off-season events as well as our 2 District competitions with the aim of making it all the way to District Champions in Springfield, MA and World Champions in Detroit Michigan.
This year's game is powered by Lucas Films and Star Wars. In INFINITE RECHARGE, two alliances work to protect??City from approaching asteroids caused by a distant space skirmish.?Each Alliance, along with their trusty droids, race to collect and score Power Cells in order to energize their Shield Generator for maximum protection. To activate stages of the Shield Generator, droids manipulate their Control Panels after scoring a specific number of Power Cells. Near the end of the match, droids race to their Rendezvous Point to get their Shield Generator operational in order to protect the city!
