Campbell Recycling News

Campbell's Recycling Advocacy Project has finished in seventh place nationally in the Trex Recycling Challenge.  Mr. Perreault and his students competed in the national division of schools with less than 501 students.  They finished first in the state of New Hampshire, and first in New England.  This is the second time this program has competed in this contest. This year participants quadrupled the weight of plastic accepted by the Trex program compared to last year.

This is the third competition this school year where Campbell's Recycling Advocacy Project has been the top finisher in New Hampshire. The other two were the New England Green Schools Challenge, and the Keep America Beautiful Recycle Bowl.

Mr. Perreault would like to thank students, parents, faculty, school and district administration for their continued support of the program.  If you or someone you know has a heavy duty pickup and is willing to haul the recyclables collected by Campbell's Recycling Advocacy Project, there are vendors in Manchester, New Hampshire, and Wilmington, Massachusetts, who are ready to accept them. Please let Mr. Perreault know if you can help.

Tribute to Segal - A mobile installation of student work

American Sculptor   Born 1924  - Mrs. Freeman's Class

Segal who originally started as a painter turned to sculpture in order to explore the human figure as it relates to actual space and its surroundings. Segal's early work is often treated within the framework of Pop Art, because of the reference to the individual's position within mass culture and the examination of the relationship between fine and popular art. Later his work reflected social concerns. Example the “Depression Breadline” on view in Washington D.C. at the Roosevelt Memorial).

Campbell Recycling Program Wins Grant!
The Campbell Recycling Advocacy Program (C.R.A.P), was awarded $200 to assist with the purchase of a wire stripper. The wire stripper will help the students remove insulation from copper wire, donated by a local electrician, to then be redeemed to further the recycling programs efforts. The award was presented to the recycling team by John Dumais of NH Grocers Association/NH the Beautiful and Ray Dube of Coca Cola Co./NH the Beautiful. Stacey Morrison and Sarah McGraw of Northeast Resource Recovery Association/ The NRRA School Club were also present. New Hampshire the Beautiful commends the efforts of the recycling team for their exceptional recycling program in addition to the faculty advisor Dennis Perreault.
Grading and Reporting Practices

We would like to inform parents, guardians, and students of several events upcoming related to student grades.

First, our parent portal for Infinite Campus will be shut down on January 13 through January 25th and grades will not be visible to parents or students. On January 26, it will open back up so that parents and students will be able to see student grades. The reason for doing this is that Infinite Campus requires this process so that teachers can access and complete their grading for courses and exams. Please be patient with us in that process.

The second piece of information is that the State of NH in 2014 requested that schools in NH report out on student Work-Study Practices by the 16-17 school year. These Practices do not reflect in student course grades, nor are they on the student transcript, but they are reported out on the student report card. Select the read more link for more information.
