Litchfield School District News Article

April 3, 2017

Hello Parents & Guardians,

Thanks to all who supported the music and French positions at Wednesday’s School Board meeting.  In particular, our students who addressed the Board were very impressive in their impassioned, mature, and reasoned statements.  Congratulations to senior Dylan Coates for his gold medal for Diesel Technology at Skills USA. I neglected to mention Cleo Schultz was elected a member of the Senate Matt True was elected Chair of House Ways & Means at Youth & Government along with Pat Rochford as House Speaker.

Congrats to the Jazz Ensemble students and Jill Pennington for their hard work and their performance this week.  Another congratulations goes out to the CHS recycling students for their 2016 Recycle Bowl State Recycling Championship and their Energy Reduction recognition in the Green Up New England Challenge.  Students who are at junior status are taking the statewide SAT assessment on Wednesday.  They will be released following the completion of the testing process.  For those interested the Athletics Booster club will be meeting tonight at 7:00 in the Library.

Have a good week, everyone.

Bill Lonergan, Principal

All Parents:

The last day of quarter 3 is this Friday, April 7th.  In order to determine extracurricular eligibility, an “F” list will be reviewed at noon on Tuesday the 11th.  Your student must be passing 3 credits of courses in order to be eligible for extra-curricular activities for the remainder of the year.  Please review INFINITE CAMPUS with your student as soon as possible.  Athletic Director, Mr. Mills, will provide coaches and staff a list of ineligible students by the end of the day on Tuesday.

Homework tutoring is available every day after school from 2:30-3:30pm in the media lab (next to the library).

SENIORS:      Graduation will be Friday, June 9th
