Litchfield School District News Article

March 27, 2017

Hello Parents & Guardians,

First and foremost, a hearty congratulations goes out to CHS faculty member, Dennis Perreault, who is the 2017 NH Council for the Social Studies Teacher of the Year! On a community note with respect to the recent voting, I want to thank the Litchfield community for supporting the schools in last week’s elections. And speaking of last week, our CHS Math Team with Advisors Diane Angelini and Shaun Hastings took 6th out of 12 teams in their Math Competition at Plymouth State.

Mark Lawrence Studios, our yearbook photographer, met with juniors in Advisory this past Wednesday to begin informing them about Senior Pictures and scheduling photo sitting appointments. More information will be forthcoming through regular mail and email from CHS and from Mark Lawrence about that process.

Also this past week we had a “Lock Down” emergency exercise, and all went smoothly with minor exceptions, and I want to thank Litchfield PD Officer Gary Gott for assisting and providing some observations and suggestions to the Administrative Team. I did not wear my pajamas to school, but students did Friday as last week was SADD’s Sleep Awareness Week informing students about healthy sleep habits.

Looking ahead, on Wednesday CHS students will be taking the Youth Risk Behavior Survey in an extended Advisory. There will be a PTO meeting on Thursday, March 30 in the CHS Library at 6:30 pm. Finally, the CHS Athletics Booster Club rescheduled their postponed fundraiser, and it will be held April 5 at Margaritas Mexican Restaurant in Nashua. 20% of pre-taxed food and beverage sales will support CHS athletics. And speaking of the Booster Club, they put out a call for parent volunteers to assume leadership for next year if you have some free time to assist.

Have a great week everyone!

Bill Lonergan, Principal
