Litchfield School District News Article

March 19, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,

This past Thursday, teacher Shawn McDonough, CHS Student Council, CHS staff, and his family combined to supply CHS and the SAU with its annual, terrific Irish meal.

We are so appreciative to return after the snow day and on a delayed opening to have that treat.

Senior Cassidy Gibbons coordinated a CHS charity basketball game between the faculty and the students this past Friday to support a scholarship in honor of Dr. Ange, cancer research, and the library learning commons at CHS.

Science teachers Cate Devine and Joanne Ray took a number of female, science & math students to the NH Girls TECH conference also on Friday to encourage participation in STEM programs.

We had two outstanding concerts involving all three schools’ choral and instrumental programs Wednesday and Thursday.   On a related topic, congratulations again to all three schools art departments for their excellent show in the CHS hallways.

For your junior students who are taking the SAT’s on Wednesday, let’s make sure they sleep well and are appropriately nourished and hydrated before the exam.  Studies show the importance of this on any performance.

On a final note, we do have Litchfield Police Officer David Donnelly starting today as the School Resource Officer for the district and housed here at CHS.  We are hugely appreciative of community efforts to effect this change.  Have a great week, everyone!

Bill Lonergan, CHS Principal
