Litchfield School District News Article

April 9, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,

This evening, international speaker, Lynn Lyons will present a workshop in the CHS auditorium at 6:30pm titled, “Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents- 7 ways to stop the cycle.”  The Litchfield School District staff was presented with this workshop this past summer and we found it very informative so please consider joining us.  A flyer about this workshop is available on the Campbell website (www.campbellhs.org).

This past Wednesday-Friday, we had about nearly 100 students journey to NYC under the leadership of English teacher Aimee Gaspar.  I had my first chance to assist on this annual event, and while I missed the time out of the office, it was rewarding to see the opportunities afforded students who had a chance to experience the sights and sounds of the “Big Apple”.  Particularly rewarding to me were the visits to Ellis & Liberty Islands and the 911 Memorial.  We had social studies teacher Nate Cooper take several of our students to Youth & Government this past weekend, and we appreciate the time and his commitment in support of those students.  We have a number of students interested in being allowed to decorate their graduation caps, and were provided with a nice presentation by two of them.  If you have ideas on this, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, Jodi, or Mike to provide input.

Under the guidance of Justin Ballou, senior Jacob Butler is directing the school spring play, An All You Can Eat Murder Buffet, at 6:30 pm in the CHS café on Saturday, April 14 and at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 15th.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors.  Hopefully you can make time in your schedules to support the students in this effort.  As a reminder, if you are interested in being interviewed by the NEASC Visiting Committee team in late May, please contact Elana [email protected] or 546-0300 in the main office, and she can provide details on the date/times.  Have a great week everyone!  Bill Lonergan, Principal
