Litchfield School District News Article

September 4, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,
It is good to have teachers and students here finally.  CHS is a very quiet place during the summer hours!  While it is nice to have the summer break to review, plan and prepare for the year ahead, it is good to have people back in the building.  The administrative team, support staff, and faculty have really worked hard to prepare for these first days, so it is good to get started.  With our NEASC report coming within the next few weeks, that will provide one opportunity for moving CHS forward and to provide great student learning experiences.
And speaking of students, many of our students have been actively involved in athletics and band activities for several weeks now (about 65% of our students participate in athletics alone, not to mention the other opportunities), and Student Council did a terrific job running Freshman Welcome Day last Thursday.  We also have a new club starting this year, called WATS (We’re All The Same) with teachers Mrs. DesLauriers and Mrs. Brady volunteering as advisors.  It is a club focusing on acceptance of all, being a good role model, and contributing positively to our community.
Finally, I am looking forward to seeing parents and guardians here at student events, so please check the upcoming events schedule in this weekly email or explore the CHS website.
Have a great week everyone!
