Litchfield School District News Article

October 15, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,
We are at the end of apple-picking season here in NH which is how I spent time with extended family on Saturday afternoon after the rains ended.  Fall is certainly here with our first autumn frost occuring Sunday morning.  I’d like to thank our counseling department and all our staff for the tremendous job administering the PSATs last week and for supporting the senior trips to local colleges.  Speaking of colleges, we have had over 40 college representative visits in the first five weeks of school, and we have another 40 scheduled for the next five weeks.  Please encourage your seniors to take advantage to meet with them about post-CHS opportunities.  Reflecting on the Superintendent’s message Friday regarding recent bus challenges with respect to construction on Rte 3A, please continue to inform Michele Flynn in the Superintendent’s office of ongoing difficulties.  At last week’s PTO meeting, I was notified our PTO collected over 7,000 lbs of clothes on Homecoming weekend raising over $1450 to support CHS.  Thanks to the PTO, the Litchfield community, and all students and staff who assisted in this effort.    We do have a “Coffee with the Administration” on Wednesday, Oct 15 at 7:00 am in the CHS Learning Commons.  While I will be away at a conference, Assistant Principal Mike Perez and Counseling Director Jodi Callinan will be present to discuss our NEASC results and to speak about CHS programming and activities.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal
