Litchfield School District News Article

September 17, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,
Now in week 3, it would appear that we are totally in rhythm.  I had the chance last week to meet with the Boosters and PTO.  Again, if you are looking to supportive of CHS programming, we have three great parent groups supporting CHS, these two along with the Friends of Music.  Speaking of them, the Friends of Music will be sponsoring their annual fundraising mattress sale here at CHS on Sept 30.  Look for information on the website and on the signs posted around CHS.  Also, speaking of the PTO, we had a great first meeting Tuesday last week with many members attending.  This is a great group to work with to help our programs.  Your child should have brought home a membership envelope, and it is only $5.00 to join and does not commit you to any additional responsibilities if you so choose.  We do have extra envelopes in the main office, so call if you need assistance.
I have been asked by several folks to discuss Gate Receipts at athletic events.  To clarify this, funds raised from ticket sales (Gate Receipts) to sporting events are entered into an account that benefits CHS programs and are controlled by the Principal and the District Business Agent for spending purposes.  It is not money supporting or controlled by the Booster Club.
Don’t forget that there is no school for students on Wednesday, the 19th.  We are having District ALICE training, and access to the school will be extremely limited.  Finally, Open House is on Thursday, the 20th starting at 6:00.  You will have a chance to walk through your student’s schedule and get an overview of their classes and expectations.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal
