Litchfield School District News Article

February 11, 2019

Hello Parents & Guardians,
This past week, through the hard work of Mike Perez, we brought the Challenge Day program to CHS for 100 of our students.  It was a tremendous event helping to build relationships between students, with the goals of improving our school climate and decreasing harassment & bullying.  We are grateful for the support from CHS staff as well as Superintendent Jette, Administration from other schools, our school counselors, other district employees, School Board members McDonald & Hershberger, Officer Savage from Litchfield PD, and numerous current parents and parents of former students.  This past week’s 2 Hour Delayed Arrival provided a great opportunity to demonstrate and put to practice the expertise of our staff in Special Education, technology use, and using data & assessments for PD work.   Please mention to your children the “Generating Kindness” cards on the bulletin board outside room 128.  It is a nice gesture to take one and pass it along to a classmate or a staff member to brighten someone’s day.  As a reminder to parents of seniors, their next Senior Project log “check” is Feb 15.  Our objective is to assess what students have completed on their project to ensure they are consistently moving toward completion.  This could include logging additional hours and descriptions of what they have accomplished, or reporting a clear plan for completion, or for their finished log with tallied hours marked “COMPLETED.”  Have your child consult the Senior Project Google Classroom for further information.  If you have an incoming freshman, please note that we have rescheduled our 8th Grade Parent’s Night to Wednesday (13th) at 6:30 as the weather looks like it might be challenging.  We do have a Coffee with Administration scheduled for 6:00 pm prior to the event.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal
