Litchfield School District News Article

December 3, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,

Good afternoon. This is the time of year when we have greater challenges with student and staff health.  Please be careful about sending your child into school when not well for both your child’s sake and for ensuring they are not contributing to others getting sick.  Thanks to the entire CHS community for your support for the food drive for Make a Difference Week. CHS Student Council collected the food from each school and they then brought them to the Litchfield Food Pantry. This year we collected 3349 cans in total, 1787 from CHS, 999 from LMS, and 563 from GMS. Thanks to Student Council, Advisor Shawn McDonough, and all of you who made this contribution possible!  Our School Psychologist, Stephanie Wales, on December 3 is starting the first of her student support groups for the 18-19 school year, this one a 3-week program on Substance Use Disorders.  Don’t forget the winter concert Tues 12/4 at 7:00 pm in the CHS Auditorium.  This is a tribute to Phil Martin.  Speaking of music, congratulations to student Rachel Goldstein for achieving incredible success in making All-State Chorus in all 4 years at CHS.  Please don’t forget the fall play Friday 12/7 at 7:00 pm and Saturday 12/8 at 12:00 noon, and again we appreciate your support for the students in their performance of The Scheme of the Driftless Shifter.  PSAT scores are expected to be released this Thursday, December 6th.  When your PSAT/NMSQT scores are ready online, your student will receive an email with instructions on creating your College Board account, going to your online score report, and using your access code to view your scores.  Finally, there is a CHS Booster Club Meeting tonight @7pm CHS Learning Commons.  Have a great week everyone!  Bill Lonergan, Principal
