This past week we had students visit several two local manufacturing facilities to speak with staff about manufacturing careers and educational expectations. It is good to provide real-world connections between student academics, post-secondary careers, and future educational possibilities. This week is red ribbon week at CHS supporting staying drug and alcohol-free. Themes are: Tues - Country Day (boot out alcohol), Wed- Drug-Free Teams (sports jersey), Thurs-Wash out Bad Decisions (Tie Dye). Also, we have a student working to fight liver disease as part of her senior project. Please send contributions with your children if you wish to assist. Contact the main office at 546-0300 for information. Also consider supporting two CHS PTO fundraisers this Saturday October 28th, 10am-3pm. PTO members will be in front of CHS collecting clothing donations (Any condition clothing, accessories, shoes, bags, linens and jewelry accepted) during the Alumni Soccer Game and the CHS Football game, so please fill a bag of old, ill-fitting, or mismatched clothes and drop it off to the PTO in front of CHS! Also, while there, you can order Thanksgiving pies or purchase one for the Litchfield Food Pantry. Two final reminders, one that Wednesday is Financial Aid Information Night, so if you would like a clearer understanding of that process, that will take place at 6:30 here at CHS. And finally, on Thursday we have a two hour delayed opening for students so that teachers can participate in on-campus professional development. Have a great week everyone!
