Final Exams and Protocols

General Information Regarding Final Exams

Students must be present during the entire testing period.  Please bring material or books to read or study.  Any student asking to be excused during testing WILL be monitored by a teacher, a nurse or an administrator.  All examinations will be administered by the classroom teacher in the classroom where the subject is taught.  Attendance is to be taken during each exam.

Students are required to be on time for all scheduled semester exams. Students who are tardy will not be allowed to take the exam. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by the Principal or Assistant Principal. Exceptions will be made for those students who are tardy for the following reasons:

Reason                                         Required Documentation

Dentist appointment                             Note from the dentist

Doctor’s appointment                           Note from the doctor

Funeral for family member                    Letter from parent

Family emergency                                 Letter from parent

No student will be allowed late entry to a final exam regardless of circumstances unless accompanied to the exam site by an administrator. Students who miss a final exam will receive a zero unless an administrator approves a make-up time and date. In all instances where students will be allowed to take a make-up exam, the exam will be scheduled at the earliest possible date and time.

It is requested of parents and guardians to impress upon their student the importance of being present and on time for semester exams. All students are required to take final exams in all their courses. Rescheduling medical appointments that are in conflict with test dates would be greatly appreciated. The school realizes, however, that this request might not be possible, nor in the best interest of the student.

Students who are not scheduled for an exam may leave school or arrive late to school without providing a note from home.  All students who are in school or on school grounds when not taking an exam should be in the cafeteria. However, students wishing to study in a quiet environment should report to the library.  Lunches for all students between 12:00 and 12:25pm on all exam days.  Busses will leave promptly at 12:30pm on all exam days, except on Thursday, June 22nd – no busses.

In the event of school cancellation, those exams missed will be held on the first day back in the same order as scheduled– i.e.: if Tuesday’s E & F exams are missed, they will be given on Wednesday when we return.

In the event of a 2-hour delay, the final exams for that day will run on a modified schedule as follows:

           First exam:        9:35 – 11:35

First lunch:        11:35 – 11:57 for Freshmen & Juniors (at this time, Sophomores report to the gym).

Second lunch:   11:57 – 12:19 for Sophomores (at this time, Freshmen and Juniors report to the gym).

            Second exam:   12:23 – 2:23

Busses for 2 hour delay days leave at 2:23

Faculty records regarding students’ owing money for lost or damaged books, lab fees, etc., will be handed in to Mrs. Pitrone on Friday afternoon, June 16, 2017, and invoices will be mailed home.
