Full day Kindergarten will strengthen academic readiness and early childhood intervention; balance academic, developmental and social skills; provide a full-day opportunity to all children in the community; and increase the percentage of students who enter first grade with the skills required for a 21 century education. The Kindergarten curriculum, like all of our
curriculum, has increased in expectations over the last few years, and a half
day program is no longer sufficient to meet those expectations. A full day allows for the curriculum to be addressed at an appropriate pace with proper tier I instruction time, balanced with appropriate time for social and emotional growth.
