Interdisciplinary Units

 

During the year, there will be two interdisciplinary units. They will count as a test grade in each of the core courses (Math, Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science). These are major projects, since they include information from each of the core courses. Information will be supplied previous to the project, and students will receive information needed and timelines for due dates.

ABC BOOK

The first project will be the ABC Book that corresponds with your students Nature's Classroom experience. As they attend Nature's Classroom, students will be journaling every night about the activities they participated in that day. This journaling effort will be a tremendous help when it comes to writing their ABC Book project.

 

Career Project Requirements

The second project will be the Career Project. Even though your student is still young, it never hurts to plan ahead and think about what they want to do when they grow up. This project will be working with research skills, and will cover all discipline areas. In the past, we have discovered that students really enjoy this project, and have the opportunity to be very creative. At the end of this project, we will have some Career Days, where parents and friends will volunteer to come in and speak about their careers. This is very informative to the students and very exciting.
