Grade 8 Hawks: Washington, DC form and deposit are now overdue. Please get them in ASAP. Thanks.

All Hawks: Don't forget to return your field trip permission forms.

All Hawks: Please return signed report cards ASAP.

Homerooms will be collecting nonperishable food items all next week starting Monday. Food will be donated to Litchfield Food Pantry.

 

Grade 7 Social Studies

Seventh grade Hawks will be finishing their study of Ancient Mesopotamia this week. Wednesday they will be comparing laws of today with the famous "Code of Hammurabi" in an activity where students will be judging different actions. Thursday we will review the chapter and Friday they will have a test on Chapter 3/ Mesopotamia.

Grade 8 Social Studies

Eighth graders will hand in their Cemetery Secrets project Monday.Thier gravestone rubbings are on display in the Hawks hall. Now we move on to the study of The Early American Republic"(1800-1820). Students will study how the United States went from radical idea to a respected and successful nation. This week ,specifically, they will learn of Washington's parting words to our infant nation and the rise of political parties. Towards the end of the week they will be busy developing a booklet of important Americans and the ideas they represented from this critical period in our nation's history.

Grade 7 Reading

This week in Reading, students will complete thier application of the Reading Process to reading history. Thursday here will be a quiz on the reading process as it applies to history.
