LMS Happenings
I hope you were able to enjoy some time together with family and
friends over our Spring break. We are in the midst of the stretch drive of the
school year with a little over seven weeks to go. I encourage all students to
keep their focus academically until June 25th so that the summer will be a time
of true rest and relaxation. Following are some odds/ends related to our next
few weeks:
- Spring Sports have begun. Good luck to our Baseball, Softball, and Track
Teams this season!
- Our next school dance is April 9, 7-9:30 sponsored
by our LMS Band Program.
- Our DARE Graduation will take place on May 13th at 8:30 in the CHS auditorium
followed by a reception in the CHS Caf.
- Our Gr. 8 Washington DC trip is May 13-16. There will be an informational
meeting about the trip on May 6 at 6:30 in the Caf.
- Our eighth graders will take the Science NECAP test on May 21, 23, &
27. Students will be tested for up to 90 minutes each of these days.
- All LMS students will take the online NWEA test between May 5-23. This is
the same test all students took in December.
- For incoming fifth grade students, we will have an informational night on
June 3 at 6:30 in the Caf.
- The Boys/Girls Club after-school program is about to begin a new session.
If you have any questions, please call Barbara Cooper with the Boys/Girls
Club.
- This summer, we will offer summer school courses in both Math and English.
Those students who fail these subjects for the year, will be required to enroll
and pass summer school.
- Please visit our web site for an updated calendar of events for the middle
school.
- If you have any questions or concerns related to your child's progress over
second quarter, please do not hesitate calling the team for an update.
Please call the middle school any time with questions/concerns
regarding your child.
Sincerely,
Tom Lecklider
