Litchfield School District News Article

March 2, 2020

Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,  Welcome back from break!  I had a nice time with my family, and I hope others had the chance to relax a little and enjoy time with family and friends also.  Often people in schools mention this upcoming period as the long stretch of the school year as winter winds down, mud season starts,  and spring begins to arrive.  My hope is the winter winding down continues at a fast pace!  Have a great week everyone!  Bill Lonergan, Principal

    • We are also fortunate that the main office staff has the time when students are not in the building to catch up on support for the teachers, and Elana and Terrie did a great job helping out the art and science departments creating safety document binders over the break.

  • Health Office Update: Update on the Coronavirus (Covid-19 virus):  As of February 29th, there have been no cases of COVID-19 yet identified in New Hampshire; however, it is important for all of us to make sure we are taking precautions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illness. Like with any respiratory illness, students and faculty/staff members should stay home if they are experiencing fever or flu-like symptoms. This is especially true if there is a history of foreign travel to high-risk countries. We also recommend reaching out to a primary care provider for guidance.  So yes, cold & flu season is still a concern.  And thus we continue to ask you to not send your child to school if showing classic flu signs including fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, and tiredness.  For information, check out this link from the CDC:  http://cdc.gov/flu/prevent/actions-prevent-flu.htm.  ?
