Litchfield School District News Article

September 30, 2019

Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,
Well, here we are on the cusp of October, and I am waiting for the weather to actually turn to fall.  The leaves are beginning to drop, so I know we are beginning the turn!  I attended a “Hall of Fame” luncheon on Saturday at my former school, and I knew all four recipients, three of them fairly well.  But I could not help but think that Campbell is ready to create its own “Hall” to recognize those who have exceptionally contributed to the school, to Litchfield, or to society.  Just a little musing on a Sunday evening.
Anyway, please don’t forget that the Special Deliberative Session on the Teacher Contract will be held Tuesday, October 1 at 7:00 pm in the CHS Auditorium.  If you need further information before the vote on Oct 28, this meeting might be helpful to better inform your decision-making.
The CHS Booster Club will be having a meeting Monday evening to do some Homecoming planning at 7:00 in the Learning Commons.
Also, please keep in mind that we will be doing our ALICE emergency drills with the students on October 7 in all the schools.  Not that we enjoy this aspect of our work, but we do understand that the planning for emergencies has changed significantly, and involving the students is an important part of keeping them safe.
Finally, if there is a concern about your student's academic success in a specific class, please feel free to email the classroom teacher directly and set-up a meeting to discuss your concerns. Our teachers are here to help.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal
