Litchfield School District News Article

October 7, 2019

Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,
One update is that we performed our first ALICE training with students today, here at CHS and also at LMS and GMS.  Our hope is for students and staff to develop a greater awareness of how to keep themselves safe if we have a significant emergency situation.  Today’s drill went really well and we saw terrific responses from staff and students to the scenarios.  Thank you for understanding the need for this work.
On a different note, this is a great time to get a yearbook; it costs only $65 and purchasing this week provides a chance to win 2 tickets to Spookyworld!  The drawing is this Friday during Homecoming. Order yours now at Jostens.com.
This week we are having our first round of Career Speakers in the Counseling Office on October 10.  Students can sign up in the Counseling Office to attend.  Please see the Counseling web page for speaker information.
Also, I’d like to remind all that this is Homecoming Week.  Please remind your children to participate in the fun.  Theme days for students & staff include CHS Day on Monday, America Day on Tuesday, Wayback Day on Wednesday, Area 51 Day on Thursday and Friday is Class Color Day.  The Homecoming Pep Rally is Friday at 1:19, the Student Council Homecoming Dance is Friday from 8:30-11:00 in the CHS cafeteria (tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door) and the bonfire is Saturday from 9:00 pm-11:00 pm near the athletic field.  As far as athletic competitions, they are as follows:  Boys Soccer is Wednesday at 4:00, Girls Soccer is Thursday at 4:00, Girls Volleyball is Friday at 6:15, and Football is Saturday @7:00 under the lights.
There will be a National Honor Society Blood Drive here on Monday, October 14th.
Have a great week everyone!  Bill Lonergan, Principal
