Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,

This is my first weekly update of the 2020-21 school year.  I hope everyone has had a good summer, took some time to appreciate your families and friends in this unique time we are currently living in.  I will say I am glad to be in the building surrounded by faculty and staff.  It is a comfortable feeling to be working with them to establish the routines and rhythms again for another school year.  They are all truly committed to make this process work for the in-school and remote students.  Their dedication, collaboration and commitment to this school and community is admirable, and I am really proud of all of them having seen the energy and spirit they bring back into CHS!  Have a great week everyone!  Bill Lonergan, Principal

  • Appreciation:

    • Congratulations to the following staff on their recent longevity awards from SAU 27.  5 Year Recognition goes to Ben Arria-Custodial and Jon Van De Car-Tech Ed, 15 year Recognition goes to Pat Keefe-English, and David Gingras-Social Studies, and 20 Year Recognition to Denise Freeman-Art, Aimee Gaspar-English, and Shawn McDonough-Computer Science.

    • We are so fortunate and greatly appreciative of Terrie Taylor in the main office who stepped up to provide solo coverage for the past two weeks as we worked through the challenges of some temporary staff shortages.

    • Our administrative team of Mike Perez, Jodi Callinan, and Josh Knight have also carried the heavy burden of preparing for changes in scheduling for students and teachers, the decision making on athletics, new building routines, and constantly new questions driving our practices in different directions already.

    • Kudos to the following CHS staff for providing Professional Development opportunities next week to colleagues across the Litchfield School District:  Thank you Heather Davis and Bill Hicks!

    • As always the custodial staff does a great job preparing us for the school year, and this year has been particularly challenging for them.  They have really come through this year.

    • Finally, for those CHS parents and students and staff who assisted with the School Reopening Task Force, your input has been very important to guide us in the return to school.  Thanks to all of you!

  • TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY'S SCHEDULES FOR STUDENTS

Please keep in mind that you have committed through our survey to your student being FULL IN or FULL REMOTE.  Please make sure your child only attends on the appropriate day.  Unless you have received permission from the Superintendent’s office, if your child shows for the wrong date, we will be asking you come to come to CHS to pick her or him up.

All Schools will offer food on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  Anyone wanting to purchase food will need to go to the cafeteria before departing for their buses/rides home!
