School Board Committees
Budget
Committee (meets every 4th
Thursday of the month)The Litchfield Budget Committee is not appointed by the Litchfield School Board. However, a member of the School Board is nominated to serve as the School Board Representative to the Budget Committee each year. The Budget Committee's purpose is to review district and town budgets, determine the bottom line of each budget that is in the best interest of the taxpayers, and make recommendations to the School Board and Board of Selectmen.
Joint Loss Management Committee (meets quarterly @ 3:15 pm)The District Joint Loss Management Committee (also referred to as the Safety Committee) is made up of district staff members and principals. As part of the New Hampshire Department of Labor Rules, a Joint Loss Management Committeer (JLMC) is intended to bring labor and management together as a collaborative team to promote health and safety practices that protects their workforce.
Technology
Committee (meets quarterly or as needed)The District Technology Committee's purpose is to review, evaluate, and determine the district's technology needs. Recommendations for upgrades, replacements, and/or additions are made to the Litchfield School Board.
Wellness
Committee (typically meets once every
two months)The District Wellness Committee's purpose is to monitor district wellness practices and enforcement of the Wellness Policy.
PERC (meets monthly)
The PERC Committee is made up of parents, instructional staff, community members, students, and the Director of Curriculum & Instruction. PERC's purpose is to review, evaluate, and recommend curriculum materials to the Litchfield School Board.
Litchfield School Board Capital Planning Committee (meets monthly)
This committee is established
to develop a Capital Improvement Plan for the district by discussing options for district facilities and provide recommendations to the School Board that are in the best interest of the school district, community, stakeholders and all those the district serves. Membership consists of 2 School Board representatives, 1 Selectmen’s representative, 1 Budget Committee representative, 3 school administration representatives, and 3 SAU representatives.
LEA
Negotiations Committee (meets as
required during negotiations)
Two
School Board members are appointed to the LEA Negotiations Committee to
negotiate a contract between the LEA and the School Board.
LSS
Negotiations Committee (meets as
required during negotiations)
Two
School Board members are appointed to the LSS Negotiations Committee to
negotiate a contract between the Litchfield Support Staff and the School Board.
