Library Media Specialist: Ms. Prevel-Turmel
In the library media center (LMC):
- We encourage reading and literature appreciation
- We study authors, illustrators and genres of literature
- We promote award winning and award nominated books
- We teach the students to find books and other materials in the LMC, which can relate to leisure time interests
- We demonstrate how to locate information in various resources so the students can become effective users of information
- We strive to promote a desire to become a life long reader and learner
These skills are introduced in grades one and two and developed further in grades three and four
*****Parents, please help your children to remember to bring back any of their library materials that are checked out by the next library class. Even if they want to renew materials, they need to bring them in to do that. It can be tricky to keep track of the library day with the rotating schedule, so please review with your child the night before if it is their library day the next day so that they can pack up their library materials. Thank you so much for helping your child to bring back their library materials on time!
Mrs. Prevel-Turmel is in the library each day from 8:00-3:15.
There is a Destiny Discover app to download to a phone or tablet for free to access the GMS library catalog
