Litchfield School District News Article

December 9, 2019

Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,
I, first of all, want to thank our entire staff for their resilience and drive in moving our students forward academically given last week’s two snow days.   It is really challenging to do so when the weather is uncooperative.
This past weekend, music teachers Carolyn Leite and Brittney Milligan and our Tri-M Music Honor Society students assisted and performed at the PTO Santa Breakfast and at Christmas in Litchfield.  Their extra contributions really help bring the spirit of the season to Litchfield.
Speaking of that spirit, don’t forget our Annual CHS Winter Concert will be tonight, Dec.9 at 7 pm in the Auditorium. All are welcome to attend!
Just a reminder that Tues, Jan 29 will no longer be a teacher workshop day, but an actual school day.  The teacher workshop day initially scheduled for that day will now be held on Tues, Feb. 11 and will be a day off for students.
Finally, the Litchfield School District is focused on using feedback from students, staff, and parents to help us constantly improve what we do and how we impact our stakeholders.  To do this, we receive Federal Title IV grant funding which supports a well-rounded education, safe and welcoming schools, and the use of technology.  To use the funding, we need to have a formalized culture and climate survey to gather thoughts and ideas from all members of our school community.  We value your opinion and feedback, but please know that this survey is optional.  If you are willing to share your thoughts, please submit this survey by 12/20/19.  Here is the link: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://forms.gle/sQfxgZvq61x8LaVA8&sa=D&ust=1576076464742000&usg=AOvVaw1K4ByKVnldd_kOgEuliZIK.   Please submit only one parent survey for your family.    There will be a similar survey given to students in grades 3-12.  If you don’t want your student to participate in that survey, please tell them they do not have to.  It is not mandatory.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal

Yearbook:
A great way to honor your student's journey and graduation milestone is with a yearbook ad. Parent Recognition Ads are now available online at Jostens.com. The online service helps you pick the photos, write the words and recognize all your student has accomplished.

SENIOR COLLEGE/MILITARY/TRADE SCHOOL/CAREER CONTRACTS &  ACCEPTANCES:
If you have been accepted into a college/trade school or signed on with a branch of the military, please see Mrs. V in guidance.  You can bring acceptance letters to her.  We will then put a Cougar Paw on the guidance window to recognize and celebrate you.

JUNIORS:
From mid-January until the end of February, counselors will meet with you one on one to talk about senior year classes and to talk about post-high school planning.

SEMESTER 2 SCHEDULES:
Are available in Infinite Campus.  Please have your student review his/her schedule and see a counselor if a change needs to be made.
