Litchfield School District News Article

December 16, 2019

Hello Parents, Guardians & CHS Community,
Here we are a week away from another break, and I’m excited for time with my family and friends.  I want to remind parents & guardians of our School Culture & Climate Survey: Please remember we are looking for only one Parent Survey response per family. This will close on December 20th. Thanks for your feedback. https://forms.gle/sQfxgZvq61x8LaVA8 .
We also want you to know that the Litchfield School District is looking for substitute teachers, paraeducators, custodians and food service workers.  Check out the district HR site for info: https://sau27.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx
If you are a parent of a freshman, sophomore, or junior, your child should have brought home results of the PSAT test administration.  For information on understanding/interpreting them, please contact your child’s counselor.
I do want to recognize CHS music teachers on another great show at their Holiday Concert this past Monday.
For coming events, Wednesday we have our final Coffee with the Admin of 2019 at 7am in the Learning Commons.
On Thursday, Dec 19, we will have our returning Alumni/College Student Panel to discuss their post-CHS experiences with current students.
Finally, this week is Campbell’s traditional Five Days of Holidays.  Themes include on Monday, Holiday Hats & Socks, on Tuesday, Holiday Characters/Colors, on Wednesday, Polar Express Day (PJ Day), on Thursday, Santa’s Helpers (Reindeer, Elves & etc), and on Friday, Ugly Sweater Day.  And we will close out the week with our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday.
Have a great holiday break, and I’m looking forward to 2020 just around the corner!
Bill Lonergan, Principal

Tree Lighting:     Please see the attached order form for our 19th annual tree lighting ceremony which will take place this Friday, December 20th.

Mid-Term Schedule:     will be sent out later this week.  There are approximately 15 days remaining in semester 1 so please have your student work with his/her teachers to ensure success.

Current Freshmen & Sophomores:  CHS students have the opportunity during their sophomore year (early Feb) to apply for a 2-year CTE program at either Alvirne HS or Pinkerton Academy.  The programs run during student’s junior and senior years.  Pinkerton is having an open house that you are welcome to tour.  Alvirne HS will send out information about their open house after the holiday break.  Pinkerton Academy CTE Tours will be held on Thursday evening, January 23 at 5:00 or 6:30 p.m.  A confirmation email will be sent out a few days in advance of January 23 with details of where to meet along with a campus map.
