Litchfield School District News Article

Hello Parents & Guardians,

Good afternoon.   There are continuous requests from within and outside CHS for support of charitable causes, and I am grateful that our parents and students understand the value of this commitment and step up more than they should.  On that note, what follows is a link to the PTO Pie Sale Fundraiser if you are interested in supporting their work on behalf of CHSand have not had a chance to do so yet.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/19Jc6jIEunKn3eRMGWqRezA5ueoceBqVk/view?usp=drive_web If you are interested in the budgeting process for CHS, I will be meeting with the Budget Committee on November 8 to discuss the CHS budget for 2019-20.  Members of the Student Council did a great job on Friday, giving a presentation to the freshmen called, “Making High School Count.”  Grades close on November 2 for Quarter 1 progress reports determining eligibility for winter sports and co-curricular activities.  Please make sure your children are passing at least six classes so they can remain eligible.  As we all are aware inside CHS, there is a severe lack of substitute teachers available for coverage when teachers are out, so if you know of anyone looking for part-time, meaningful work with students, please encourage them to apply on the District website.  With the weather changing, more absences occur among our staff, so having reliable subs is important this time of year.  Business Teacher Dana Bourassa and his marketing students at the school store selected a good product in the CHS logo blankets they are offering for sale.  They make great gifts if you are thinking ahead to the holidays.  Please see the following link for information https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r-lAiiNUPoDvKXAaaGtX_-6gtBnineaJmXPI443c2lk/edit .
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal
