Litchfield School District News Article

October 22, 2018

Hello Parents & Guardians,
We are quickly coming to the end of the fall sports season, with tournaments coming up for many teams.  Please check the website for updates on the tournament schedules.  We also celebrated senior athletes in boys and girls soccer and girls volleyball this past week.  We really appreciate these student-athletes for their contributions at CHS both within and outside the classrooms.  I’d like to extend my congratulations to senior Liv Garand and her volleyball teammates for their very successful Cornhole Tournament this past Sunday at CHS and their fundraising to support Breast Cancer Research.  There was a tremendous outpouring of support for the event from students, staff and the community, and the gym was lined up with players young and old.   Please remind your children that Mon, Nov 5 will be switched to another Day 2 schedule.  We have lost a number of Day 2 classes already in the school year and want to balance off the schedule for teachers and students.  Also, this week is Red Ribbon Week, and we will be taking a school-wide photo on Wednesday during advisory.  Please tell your children to demonstrate their school spirit and wear their red & black on Wednesday.  Finally, Thurs, Oct 25 is a 2 hour delayed opening for students, and teachers will be doing some in-service professional development work in the morning.
Have a great week everyone!
Bill Lonergan, Principal.
