The Campbell High School English curriculum uses works from different time periods, regions, and writing styles to explore the world of literature. This discipline requires extensive reading, writing, speaking, and researching to explore the thematic units at each grade level. English 9, World Literature, and American Literature are the required English courses for grades 9 through 11 and are one credit each. Junior and senior year students have an opportunity to choose from various electives that are 0.5 credits each. During their senior year, students have the opportunity to choose from Senior English (0.5 credit), Honors Senior English (1 credit), and AP Literature (1 credit). Overall, students need 4 credits in English before graduation.
